My Professional Goals

Whether it’s making maps, environmental consulting, or managing data; I hope to help protect, understand, and manage dynamic landscapes that range from city to suburb to rural ecologies.

As I begin my chapter as a professional and end my final semester at UC Berkeley, it is easy to become overwhelmed and chase opportunities simply because they are there. However, as I have navigated college, I have learned how crucial it is to prioritize my passions in life to keep my projects and life in general sustainable.

I am incredibly passionate about wildlife and active environmental management that looks at the bigger picture but also considers how inter-related ecosystems can be. I believe this detailed and deliberate environmental management can be aided by ethical and informative maps made with Geographic Information Systems. Maps can be made easily with GIS, but, in order to design graphics that make a difference, I stress careful data collection, analysis, and display to provide an explanation for an environmental problem, not just the problem itself.
